Debut at Teatro alla Scala

From 23 May to 14 June 2027 French soprano Emy Gazeilles will make her Italian debut at the legendary Teatro alla Scala in Milan, as Pedro in Jules Massenet's Don Quichotte.

This engagement marks a significant milestone in the young artist's career and carries a particular personal significance. Gazeilles sang in Damiano Michieletto's new production of Don Quichotte at the Opéra national de Paris in 2024. She now reprises the role as the acclaimed staging travels to the world's most prestigious opera house.

The production will be conducted by Bertrand de Billy and features an outstanding international cast led by Alex Esposito in the title role and Gaëlle Arquez as Dulcinée. The cast also includes Giulio Mastrototaro (Sancho Pança), Emy Gazeilles (Pedro), Samy Camps (Rodriguez), Didier Pieri (Juan) and Saori Sugiyama (Garcias).

For Gazeilles, these performances represent not only her first appearance in Italy, but also her debut at La Scala, a landmark achievement for any opera singer.

Returning to a role she helped bring to life in Paris, and doing so on the stage of Teatro alla Scala, marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in an increasingly international career.
