BAYREUTH FESTIVAL SCHOLARSHIP

Bayreuth Festival Scholarship Recipient
Emy Gazeilles, soprano, has been awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Bayreuth Festival (Bayreuther Festspiele), held at the renowned Festspielhaus in Germany. She will attend several performances during the festival and take part in the official Scholars’ Concert on August 16.

This scholarship was generously offered by the Cercle Richard Wagner de Nice Rive Droite, following her participation in their 2024 production of La Rondine by Puccini at the Gattières Festival. This recognition highlights her growing presence in the operatic scene and her commitment to both the Italian and German repertoire.

SYRINX EN RÉ

Festival Syrinx en Ré

As part of the Festival Syrinx, a distinguished summer concert will take place on August 22 in the Église de La Couarde-sur-Mer, bringing together five accomplished musicians for a refined and heartfelt musical evening.

Soprano Emy Gazeilles returns to the festival after a successful recital in November at the Hôtel de Ville in Tours, where she and pianist Adrien Gey offered an acclaimed performance of the most romantic lieder.

This new program expands the artistic dialogue, presenting selected movements from Beethoven’s Sonata No. 5, Op. 24 “Spring” (in an arrangement for flute), alongside a vibrant selection of lieder and art songs by Schubert, Schumann, Poulenc, Rachmaninoff, and Dvořák.

The ensemble features:

  • Emy Gazeilles, soprano

  • Jean-Baptiste Souchon, alto

  • Charbel Charbel, cello

  • Perrine Chapoutot, flute

  • Adrien Gey, piano

With its combination of instrumental intimacy and vocal lyricism, the concert promises to be a highlight of the festival, offering audiences a rich emotional and musical experience in one of Île de Ré’s most charming historical settings.
